One of the things an experienced mom will tell you when it comes to bottle feeding a baby is that you need to have a number of different bottle brands for your little one to try, as the silicone nipples are different shapes and sizes and you don’t know to which your baby will take. We bought three brands, and Isla would only drink from her Dr. Brown’s bottles – specifically the pink Natural Flow ones. The internal vent system works to mimic a mother’s breast production (watch this video), and the only negative thing I have to say about these bottles would be that I couldn’t figure out how to assemble it the first time (total new-mom-brain!). We were also gifted the Dr. Brown’s bottle warmer at one of my showers and love it. It’s small, easy to store in a kitchen cabinet and quick to heat up a bottle for a hungry baby.
Dr. Brown’s kindly sent me a few other products to try, and I have to genuinely tell you… I’m a serious brand lover now. Isla absolutely loved the PreVent Contour Shield Pacifier. The contoured surface makes it easy for Isla to keep the paci in her mouth. I love all of the colors and designs that the pacifiers come in too.
Anyone with a pacifier-loving baby will know about the frequency of it hitting the ground. A self-declared anti-germaphobe, I will implement the 5-second rule and suck it, then give it back to Isla. However, I don’t have to freak Sasha out by doing this anymore thanks to Dr. Brown’s Pacifier and Bottle wipes. I was totally sold the first time I tried them. They are made with the all-natural/plant-based Xylitol and are unscented. We also started using their Tooth & Gums wipes, which taste like heavenly grape (both Sasha and I also tried them on ourselves!). Although Isla doesn’t have any teeth yet, she is teething, and these wipes help to create a healthy oral environment for when the teeth appear. Lastly, we received the Nose and Face wipes, which are perfect for dry noses (think soft, moist baby Kleenex). I know everyone swears by the Nosefrida, but let’s just say that your baby will be less adverse to these wipes than having boogers sucked forcefully out of their nose!
Last, but certainly not least, the Gia Nursing Pillow. This pillow is so smart. Other popular nursing pillows are u-shaped, with the same size and height on both left and right sides. The Gia nursing pillow’s patented angled design positions baby at an incline – which is perfect for us, as Isla has very bad reflux (think lots and lots of throw-up) and our pediatrician told us to keep her head above her stomach while feeding. The only negative about the pillow is that you have to turn it, in addition to your baby, when changing sides. This isn’t an issue when you are bottle feeding though!
I’m excited to be teaming up with Dr. Brown’s to give away a goodie bag that includes:
- Three 8oz bottles (choice of color: Clear, Pink or Blue)
- 0-6 month PreVent® Contour Shield Pacifier (choice of color)
- Gia Nursing Pillow
- Healthy Wipes (Tooth & Gums, Pacifier and Bottle, Nose and Face)
Follow the various entry options listed above – the more entries you get, the higher the chance you’ll win this incredible assortment of baby goods. The giveaway ends at midnight on Friday, October 17. I will announce the winner by Monday. I look forward to reading your responses. Good luck!
I was given these items by Dr. Brown’s for my review. I was allowed to keep the products, but the opinion I am sharing remains my own.
