When I think of midcentury modern, my mind immediately goes to Palm Springs  – for a million reasons, but mainly because Kelly of Studio DIY posted photos from her stay last year and all of the cool homes they saw (double image above from her post here). They stayed at the colorful Saguaro Hotel, which is totally on my bucket list of places to visit. This architecture and design style also reminds me of one of my favorite bloggers, Ashley of Sugar & Cloth, as she recently posted some DIYs inspired by this style (planters and side table). Although our house is definitely more modern than midcentury modern, I love appreciate the style.

When Chairish reached out and asked me to participate in their Midcentury Modern Mix n Match Style Challenge, I jumped at the opportunity, as it’s not a design style I normally delve into. The selection of midcentury pieces on Chairish is amazing. I clicked and clicked and clicked through pages and while some pieces had me scratching my head, I loved most of them. I’ve put together three nooks using selections from the site. I adore these colorful collections, most especially the artwork. What are your thoughts on midcentury modern? Are you feeling it? Have you ever browsed Chairish before? I’ll warn you: it’s incredibly addicting.

  1. I LOVE mid century modern. My husband isn’t a fan, so I cannot convince him to incorporate looks but I adore them. Also – that hotel? Swoon.

Sasha isn’t a huge fan either. BUT YES. That hotel looks amazing. I love all of the colors!!!

  2. great post – mid-century is one of my favorite time periods in design! I love the clean lines, the simplicity in style and design, the hints of brass & chrome, and the use of texture – wood mixed with rattan and bamboo. how do you reach the pieces that you have listed here?

Which ones are you looking for? They’re all on Chairish! The options come and go though. I am happy to help you find them!!! And I love the clean lines too 🙂

  3. I am DYING to go to Palm Springs. The flights from Houston are killer though. Studio DIY’s husband is an amazing photographer! He’s a fun one to follow on Instagram!
