Galentine’s Day

Last year, I participated in my very first ‘Galentine’s Day’ celebration. The hostess with the mostess, Christie of KiKiMac, had my friend, Danielle, and I over for a ‘crafternoon’ (see her post here and mine here). Last night, three other ladies and I went over to our sweet friend’s house for a night of ‘baking for our boys.’ It was seriously so much fun. I think all Valentine’s celebrations should happen with other females, as we get way more excited about the holiday than men do! But a romantic night with your man obviously cannot be replaced!

I brought over raw veggies and hummus, Chocolove bars, and some La Marca prosecco (our favorite), and the other ladies brought/made fruit, baked brie, red velvet cookies, vegan beet brownies, and sugar cookies which we spent the night decorating (this is not my calling in life, but it was a good laugh).

After cookie decorating, we moved to the craft table and made cards for our boys using all of the adorable supplies that Christina (of Christina Leigh Events) brought. I am seriously in love with her pink paper cutter! Mine is a terrible orange color, and I think I need an upgrade!

We had such a good night, and I am already looking forward to next year’s Galentine’s Day celebration. I’m convinced that all you need is delicious food, wine, baking and crafts… and of course, awesome friends.

Have you ever celebrated Valentine’s Day with your girl friends? If so, what did y’all do? Any recommendations for next year?

Creative Halloween Cards, Crafts and Costumes

Halloween has historically not been my favorite holiday (since perhaps the age of 8); however, in recent years, I’ve come to appreciate the pretty Rifle Paper Co. cards, sweet pumpkin DIYs, and adorable little baby/toddler costumes. My favorite source of creative crafts is definitely Sugar & Cloth, and I love all of the costumes that Studio DIY creates.

In honor of next week’s spooktacular celebrations, I’ve put together my favorite paper goods, eerie crafts and creative costumes. This morning, one of my favorite blogs – Lark & Linen – published 12 ‘non-lame’ halloween crafts. It’s a great roundup too!

Do you love Halloween? Will you be trick or treating next week? If you need some baby costume inspiration, check out Hook, Thread and Tinker’s adorable roundup here.

Cards

“You’re my favorite creeper”? Um, yes. That and the orange monster. Oh and the gold leaf skull? How elegant. I love these cards so much. creative halloween cards costumes adults kids trick or treat DIY crafts adult party inspiration

Valentine’s Crafting + Baking

Last weekend, I headed over to Christie of KiKiMac‘s gorgeous house with Danielle of Goat and Spoon, and we had a perfect “Galentine’s Crafternoon.” She had posted some Valentine’s craft ideas here and here. As you’ll see in Christie’s post, we ended up creating these pretty hearts. Please soak in all of her gorgeous touches – like the place settings, menus, and delicious vegan, gluten free food!

Of course, with this festive holiday approaching us quickly, there are lots of DIY and decor inspirations posted across the web. Oh So Beautiful Paper’s Valentine Crafting Party ideas include some of my favorite! I adore these printables from Oh So Pretty x Sugar & Cloth.

I also love this cupid’s arrow cake idea! Sasha and I would never finish that big of a cake, but I think a scaled down version would be perfect. I could even use our new favorite vegan chocolate beet muffin recipe for the cakes!

Another fun vegan Valentine’s Day recipe are these chocolate cake balls. I love finding vegan and gluten free recipes – perfect for a dinner with me and my brother-in-law, Carl, who has Celiac disease.

Photo + Stamp Save-the-Date

I super, super love Antiquaria. Their store is to-die for. All of the rubber stamps are gorgeous, as well as their entire collection of paper goods. I found this unique save-the-date on Oh So Beautiful Paper and thought it was an excellent DIY option for a wedding, or even for a baby announcement (obviously what’s on my mind now)! Antiquaria has a number of stamps (this is my favorite), even this baby one and this too!. The step-by-step instructions for the stationery shown below are in the post here. I’m seriously considering this for baby Petrovic!

I’m also in love with this clay DIY save-the-date. It’s such a great idea. I wish I were that creative!
