Poppy’s Feminine Blue and Green Nursery

Miss Poppy Alexandra Petrovic was born last Tuesday, and we are absolutely smitten with our littlest love. I am going to share her birth story in the next few days, but in the meantime, I am so excited to share photos of her nursery. It is unbelievable to me that I first posted Georgie’s nursery just over two years ago! Where has time gone?

Before sharing anything, I have to give credit where credit is due – and that is most definitely to my talented and dear friend, Megan Hermis. Her design help with this room was so invaluable – she took a very rough vision and made it come to life, while adding so many elements I could never have dreamed up on my own. I cannot sing Megan’s praises loudly enough! She is a real saint to put up with my 24/7 text messages with questions about our house decor. Thank you, Megan!

Dream Living Rooms

Perhaps because Isla’s nursery is complete, I am super itchy to redo our living room. I have been scouring the internet for inspiration… probably much to Sasha’s dismay! We’ve only been in our house for a year, but there are many things I would like to change. In a few years, we plan to do a custom build, and I want to have every single room mapped out before we design anything. The living room is where we spend most time (second to the kitchen, which might be surpassed by Isla’s nursery right now!), so that would be where I focused most of my attention. I also want to build a toy room, as I am a freak about baby ‘stuff’ cluttering up the house. Our good friends are turning their office into a nursery – super jealous (although I love our study!!). Some of my favorite living rooms are posted below – including my sister’s newly renovated home. What do you think? Are these your style? Sasha finds it a tad girly, but he’s generally okay with letting me make design decisions (not so much with art!).

PS We are headed to Durango today! So excited for this new chapter in our lives.

Isla’s Birth Gift: Pearls

For the month leading up to Isla’s birth, Sasha asked me what I wanted for a ‘push present.’ I thought the idea of gifting your wife for delivering your child seemed kind of bizarre – it’s not like men have the option! I told him time and time again (semi-jokingly) that I wanted this elephant from Baby & Child. He refused.

After Isla was born (and the chaos died down), Sasha handed me a small jewelry box and explained that this gift was to commemorate this special moment (not a ‘thank you’). I opened the box and started crying – my first set of pearl earrings. Isla was born on June 4, and her birthstone is pearl. I love them so much and have literally worn them every day since she was born (13 to be exact).

What are your thoughts on push presents?

The Most Beautiful Wall Paper Collection

It’s time to redo the entire house. Okay, so there’s no way Sasha would buy that, given that we freshly painted every room 12 months ago, but the Rifle Paper Co. wall paper collection for Hygge & West just launched, and I’m utterly obsessed. I truly thought about how each print would fit in one room or another in The Manor – I love the safari print for Isla’s room? Maybe an accent wall? And we could totally redo one of the bathrooms with the pineapples! How fun is that print? And I need the peonies in our laundry room. What do you think of the collection?

Biscuit-Home-Inspired Cactus Nursery

I went to Biscuit Home’s new store on Friday (post to come soon!), and I left wanting a second baby quickly – and a boy. All because of these Marfa Crib Sheets. Y’all – I’m in love! Sasha likes them too, so I think I’m going to buy them just in case we ever have a boy. Ha, total crazy 39+ week pregnant move. I cringe at all Google and Pinterest search results for “Cowboy theme nursery” – yikes, not my style. But I do love the idea of having a clean, modern Texas-cowboy-cactus theme room – a little teepee, some succulents, cactus prints, a framed sheriff badge, etc. I put together a little inspiration college in case we ever have a boy down the line (it will be awhile before I want to be pregnant again!).

PS I told Sasha about this post, and he laughed. I’m definitely getting ahead of myself here. C’mon Miss Isla! Due date is June 4!
