En Route to San Francisco

20130117-133953.jpg

I’m currently traveling to one of my favorite places in the world – San Francisco. I’m going to hang out with one of my best friends, Sasha’s sister, and to meet our wedding coordinator at The Carneros Inn, our florist, our lighting designer and our cupcake creator! I cannot wait. I’m sitting in Orange County, daydreaming about being Lauren Conrad… pictures of the trip to be posted soon!

On Monday night, I expressed my growing stress to my best friend, McKenzie, and as I’m going to bed, my phone vibrates. I look and there’s an email from her. It’s honestly the most beautifully designed PDF I’ve ever opened. Along with a perfectly uplifting email message about the joys of being engaged, the dress selection is impeccable. I did screenshots of the PDF since they don’t display in WordPress. Isn’t she perfect? I want them all! Especially that beaded number by Parker. You can find these gorgeous dresses at the following links:

Dream Job: Travel Consultant

I often think to myself, if money was not part of the life equation, what would I be doing for my job? Instead of management consulting, I would perhaps be a travel consultant. I would love more than anything to help people plan their great adventures – picking out hotels, restaurants, excursions, shows, etc. in foreign lands. I love to travel. It’s my passion. I get great excitement from experiencing new cultures, trying unknown foods, and meeting new people. I want to share that joy with people and alleviate the potential stress of trip planning.

Before Sasha and I went to Europe, I made a guide book for us. It’s very detailed, and we almost followed it to a T. I got rid of the scanned passport pictures, and uploaded where you can view my insanity here. If you are going to Greece, Turkey or France soon – I’d love to help you! I have many good ‘lessons learned’ from the vacation.

Our next trip will definitely revolve around water and relaxation (it will be a honeymoon after all!), and so I had to feature these pictures from my best-friend’s gorgeous tumblr <fourth lake>.

New Houston Favorite: Adair Kitchen

I was meeting two of my best friends for lunch last weekend, and asked my sister where we should eat near the Galleria, since I don’t know that area very well. She suggested Adair Kitchen, and when I told Patrick and Paola, Pat replied, “Oh, my friend owns that.” Huh? Yup, his fraternity brother, Nick Adair, is a co-owner of this delicious new Houston restaurant, located on San Felipe near Sage Rd. I checked out the lunch menu, saw the words “Black Bean Quinoa Burger” and was sold. Most restaurants’ vegetarian options are boring, but that caught my attention. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint. The setup and decor of the restaurant is gorgeous as well – great lighting, minimalistic but welcoming, and the perfect amount of white. The fonts are amazing – American Typewriter and Despeinada for the menus (yes, I’m a typography nerd). We loved it so much that we ate there again on Thursday night for dinner – this time with McKenzie, who was equally pleased. We had the baked brie to start (melt in your mouth tasty), and I tried the Kale and Quinoa salad – yummm. Looks like I’ve got a new go-to restaurant. Go and try it for yourself!

Favorite Looks of the Week

I love winter white, pops of color, and faux fur. Alas, I was tickled this week with some of the beautiful pictures posted online – see my favorite below. Have you seen British Vogue’s Katepedia? Dying. In honor of her birthday this week, I’ve included the picture. If she had a blog, she would be in this post every week (without a doubt).8362176684_61228e551e_o
