Perfecting the Casual Updo

I have a (not-so-secret) confession to make: I’m terrible with hair. I cannot braid my own hair or do any sort of updo, chignon, bun, etc. Nor can I be bothered straightening my hair day-to-day. This results in the same old curled ‘do every day. It just so happens that McKenzie is the queen of hair styling and can quickly throw her hair into a braid – and it will look perfect. I feel like many of my favorite bloggers/celebrities are the same way. See my favorite updos below – I’ve got some practicing to do.

Moroccan Inspired Wedding

My desire to visit Marrakesh is constantly fueled by beautiful pictures I’ve seen on some of my favorite blogs, including Decor8. Almost all of the pictures I’ve seen of this Moroccan city are stunning – filled with bold colors and prints. It was in the running for our December trip, but we ended up picking Turkey and Greece instead. It’s high on the list for the next go-around. A Moroccan-inspired shoot was posted on 100 Layer Cake recently, and I am in love with the paper goods and all of the intricate details. It probably helps that I love the pairing of hot pink and turquoise – have you noticed?

Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Tapp

On Saturday, two of my favorite people in the entire world became husband and wife. I was honored to be a part of the beautiful ceremony, which was planned by one of my best friends – Sophee. She did a phenomenal job – all of the details (pictures, flowers, drink mixers, paperie, signage, etc.) were incredible, which makes sense given her love of weddings (click here for one of the many wedding posts she did while working for Camille Styles). The ceremony and reception were held at the gorgeous Laguna Gloria – a perfect venue for any couple’s special night, as evidenced by other gorgeous weddings (here, here and here).
