The Windy City

I’m in Chicago this week for Accenture’s consultant training courses, and I legitimately forgot how insanely cold this city gets. McKenzie and I came in March for a quick 24-hour adventure, and while we were absolutely frozen the whole time, we loved it. The two of us shopped on Michigan Avenue, went to Second City (highly recommend it to anyone visiting), ate at Purple Pig, took pictures in Millenium Park, met Jackson at 2 Sparrows (where I had my first St. Germain cocktail!). Some of the snapshots from the trip are below – please take note of my thermal jacket and gloves (such a weenie). I’m definitely planning another trip to Chicago soon to see Mara and Caroline, once she’s all settled in at Google.

Relish Fine Foods

I met one of my best friends at Relish on San Felipe for lunch, and I’m officially obsessed. The beautiful glass building lends itself to wonderful people watching, as customers come and go into this “fine foods” shop & café. I’ve driven by a million times and always wanted to eat there, and when Paola and I were trying to decide where to meet up, it was the first place that came to mind. And trust me, we weren’t disappointed. We both got side salads (see pictures below), as well as the Beet and Goat Cheese salad (pour moi) and the Summer Strawberry salad. They were light and refreshing, and I plan on going back ASAP.

Friday Feature: Sasha

Starting today, I’m going to feature friends, family, and other bloggers on Fridays. The lucky first candidate is my boyfriend, Sasha (commonly referred to as Sasha Pants, or just Pants). He is an angel and puts up with constant picture taking, and I love him for it. Learn a little more about Pants to the right.

Snack Bar Boxes

Snack bars at weddings are pretty standard issue nowadays. However, I normally see the goodies being shuffled onto plates or into little clear plastic bags. I was so pleased when I saw these cupcake-to-go boxes on The Sweetest Occassion. Isn’t that a great idea? I think that the yellow chevron tablecloth was the icing on the {cup}cake!

Unrelated to snack bar boxes, but amazing nonetheless: these confetti invites. Aren’t they gorgeous?
