It was Labor Day Weekend, I was 17…

Any mention of Labor Day weekend, and I’ve got Tim McGraw stuck in my head. But really, I’m not mad at all.

This year, I have very mixed feelings about this holiday. A day off work? Wonderful. The weekend before I start my new project (in Houston!)? Elated. B-Ry’s “bros” coming to visit for the first time? Could not be happier. But it’s also the last weekend that my best friend, Alisdair, is going to be in Texas. He’s moving back to Scotland (where we became best friends 23 years ago!). It’ll be a weekend filled with laughter, joy, and tears. I guarantee there will be a ton of photo-opp moments, meaning I’ve got to be well prepared with my wardrobe. What to wear, what to wear? I’ve put together my ideal Labor Day celebration outfit below. Only half-way into assembling it did I realize it’s pink and gold. Clearly obsessed (see here).

1) J Crew Pink Bubble necklace, 2) Mona dress at Anthropologie (on sale!), 3) Jimmy Choo sunglasses, 4) Tory Burch Robinson Crossbody bag, 5) Essie Chastity, 6) Essie Golden Nuggets, 7) Jimmy Choo Anouk Suede Pumps (obsessed!), 8, Kate Spade Strike Your Fancy Idiom bracelet, 9) Baublebar Pink Twist Cuff

Come to think of it, this point was (subconsciously) very inspired by Rachel of Pink Peonies. I love her style so much!

My Dream Is Coming True!

My focus has been on one thing recently: planning a trip to Istanbul and Cappadocia, Turkey and Athens, Greece. {s} and I are going in December, and I cannot wait. Both countries have been on my ‘Top 5’ for ages now (still to go: Israel, New Zealand, Thailand – among many others). One of my co-workers told me about Cappadocia, and when I Googled it, the following image came up. Isn’t it magical? Looks like I’ll get my hot air balloon ride after all (as dreamed about here). I cannot wait! 120 days…

Lion King & Jason Mraz

On Saturday, {s} and I went to Lion King at the Hobby Center, and we absolutely loved it. One of my best friend’s came with her boyfriend – it was the perfect double date. On Sunday, we headed north to the Woodlands for the Jason Mraz concert I’ve been eagerly awaiting for over a month (see related post here). I cannot explain to you how good he sounds in person. If ever given the opportunity, go and hear him live. I promise you won’t regret it.

Sadly, that beautiful floral dress (from my sister’s closet) is no longer available in that Ashbury print. They have it in a variety of colors and prints though – love it. Click here for the Jules dress.
