Saturday was White Linen Night in the Heights, which I’d never been to before but absolutely loved. {s} and I brought Belle, which might have been a mistake, as it was sensory overload, but the atmosphere was great. One of his best friend’s wife was working at the Bright Pink booth, so we hung out there for most of the night but I did wander down 20th to get a look at the bands, runway shows, and market booths along the way. Some of the highlights from the night are below!
The Bar
The “fun-clinchers” at a wedding are undoubtedly alcohol and music. A great bar and band will get you far, as your guests will leave merry and exhausted from all of the dancing. Instead of having a plain bar setup, do something a little fancier. It doesn’t have to cost a ton, but by simply adding flowers, streamers, or frames, you can create a beautiful bar area that will have the guests coming back for more (and more) (and more).

Mustachifier? Yes, please.
One of {s’} best friends is about to become a dad to a little baby boy. I’ve been searching for gifts to include in a bundle, and I’ve found some gems at Paper Source, Restoration Hardware’s Baby & Child, Crew Cuts, and Trumpette. If you’ve seen some cute baby boy presents elsewhere or have any creative gift ideas, please, please let me know!
1) Porn for New Moms from Paper Source, 2) Baby card from Paper Source, 3) Monogrammed baby blanket from Baby & Child, 4) Mustachifier from Paper Source, 5) One-piece from J. Crew’s Crew Cuts, 6) Cashmere blanket from J. Crew’s Crew Cuts, 7) Bib from J. Crew’s Crew Cuts, 8) Trumpette Cowboy socks, 9) Shaggy plush dogs from Baby & Child
Olympic Rings à la Moi
Unfortunately, I haven’t watched much of the Olympics yet. I’ve been traveling and working, both which do not lend themselves to TV time (we also don’t have a TV at our apartment). However, while in Miami airport on the way home from Antigua, the whole family + {m} watched the Opening Ceremony. Let’s just say, there were lots of teary eyes (my parents are true Brits). I wanted to do an Olympics themed post, but didn’t want to be cheesy. So what did I go for? Pure cheese. Below are the Olympic Rings, à la moi. They include some of my favorite things in life, i.e. beaches, flowers, dogs, spinach, and raspberries. What would your blue/yellow/black/green/red items be?
Antigua Snapshots
Antigua is a tiny little island in the Caribbean, one which my Granny lived on during World War II, when children evacuated from London. Although it sounds pretty random, she actually moved there because her dad owned a sugar plantation on the island. She still has a cousin who lives there, whom we met on our trip. Below are some highlights of our holiday in Jolly Harbour, Antigua.
