Nursery Gallery Wall

DSC_0445I absolutely love gallery walls – we now have them in three rooms of the house. I had been pining a few prints here and there for Isla’s room and recently pulled the trigger on all of them. I wanted to add some color to the very monochromatic room (lots of gold, cream beige, white), but didn’t want anything too bold. After buying the prints, I spent a few weeks scouring frames, then spent last Sunday cutting out kraft paper versions of the frames and arranging and rearranging them on the wall. The whole process takes quite awhile, but it’s totally worth it. I have some space on the left and right to expand the collection if desired!

Do you have a gallery wall in your house?

A Growing Print Collection

prints

I officially move into The Manor when we get back from the wedding, and I cannot wait to take care of all the finishing touches so we can think about throwing a house warming party. I love photographs (obviously… or see title of this blog), so they are in frames all over the house. I’ve also been adding to our print collection – I’m going to have a gallery wall in the study and one of the guest rooms. Our prints come from Etsy, Furbish Studio, Minted, Wantful, Paper Source (wrapping paper!), and Rifle Paper Co. We have some others on our registry, and I’m sure I’ll continue to add to the collection over the next year as we finish hanging things on the bare walls. Where do you find your prints?

A Pop of Color

Lately, I’ve been craving black + white everything. I ordered this Tipped Boy Shirt online from J. Crew, + I fell in love with it the minute I tried it on. I ordered these three black and white prints for the study, only own online white + black picture frames, and registered for only white serving ware. I love the simplicity of it all, but I am very aware that with some much white + black, you need a pop of color. Enter Garance Dore’s Perfect Friends print. I so, so love it. I’m saving up to add this to our study gallery wall. All of her illustrations are gorgeous.

Pretty Little Things

Bryan texted me last night and said, “The house is starting to look like a home.” It was a small statement, but the sentiment was huge. I feel the same way! All of the little touches are coming together and although Sasha and I have agreed not to nail anything into the walls for another few weeks (I’m beginning to cave), we have ordered a few prints and I’m leaning them on the walls for now. I move out of my apartment in two weeks (seriously depressed – I’ve absolutely had the best year of my life living with McKenzie), and back into my parents – with the exception of my furniture, which will go into The Manor. A busy few weeks ahead! I’ll keep you all posted as always.
