Christmas Carol Prints (By Yours Truly)

As I mentioned here, our house is already decked out in Christmas decor, which makes me one happy lady (I cannot wait to share photos on Monday!). I go totally crazy at the holidays – I embrace Christmas festivity with open arms. I have begun playing carols, and one night while listening to one of my favorite Christmas albums (um, Glee… don’t judge me!), I decided to make some carol prints for our house.christmasprints3

A Berry Happy Halloween!

Happiest Halloween to you! Isla is dressing up as a strawberry to go trick-or-treating tonight in the neighborhood with her cousins. I must admit, she is not as big a fan of the costume as I am! That stalk hat really rounds it out so nicely, but she is apparently not a hat person.

I wish everyone the best Halloween! I am looking forward to this weekend. We’re getting our family photos taken on Sunday by Paige of Awake Photography, and I’m so excited. I have a handful (or two) of props ready, and cannot wait to get them back.

Are you going trick or treating tonight? If so, what are you or your little one going to be dressed up as?

Creative Halloween Cards, Crafts and Costumes

Halloween has historically not been my favorite holiday (since perhaps the age of 8); however, in recent years, I’ve come to appreciate the pretty Rifle Paper Co. cards, sweet pumpkin DIYs, and adorable little baby/toddler costumes. My favorite source of creative crafts is definitely Sugar & Cloth, and I love all of the costumes that Studio DIY creates.

In honor of next week’s spooktacular celebrations, I’ve put together my favorite paper goods, eerie crafts and creative costumes. This morning, one of my favorite blogs – Lark & Linen – published 12 ‘non-lame’ halloween crafts. It’s a great roundup too!

Do you love Halloween? Will you be trick or treating next week? If you need some baby costume inspiration, check out Hook, Thread and Tinker’s adorable roundup here.

Cards

“You’re my favorite creeper”? Um, yes. That and the orange monster. Oh and the gold leaf skull? How elegant. I love these cards so much. creative halloween cards costumes adults kids trick or treat DIY crafts adult party inspiration

Dream Home Office Spaces

I am sitting in our home office as I type this post, and while I love this little sanctuary room, there is quite a bit I would love to change… but that involves knocking down walls to create more natural light (cue Sasha rolling his eyes). I love a bright, clean, modern office – much like the dream laundry room, playroomkitchen, master bedroom, and living room posts.

I’ve put together an assortment of my favorite home offices. I think that the essentials include:

  • Large white desk with lots of easily accessible storage space
  • A massive iMac (thank you, Sasha!)
  • White framed prints (with pops of gold and pink)
  • A bold, colorful rug
  • A shelf above the desk for above mentioned frames or books/knick-knacks
  • A modern, interestingly design office chair (we love ours from CB2!)
  • Foliage – whether it be a large ficus or small potted succulents, greenery is key
  • A unique lamp (my favorite is the Audrey Lamp from Lulu & Georgia)

Do you have a home office? If so, do you spend a lot of time there? What are your ‘essentials’?

Breathtaking Parisian Engagement Session

One of my closest friends from childhood, Amanda, got engaged last month while visiting Paris with her (then) boyfriend. Sasha and Scott are friends, so we are both extremely excited for them and their spring wedding in New Orleans. While in Paris, they had photographs taken by the very talented Stacy Reeves.

I absolutely die over these photos. Paris is my favorite city in the world (see travel guide here), and I just swoon at their strolls through the Palace Gardens, romantic tossing of a key on the lock bridge, romantic poses outside the Louvre, and breathtaking shots in front of the Eiffel Tower.

Isn’t this couple just stunning? I cannot wait to celebrate their big day with them in less than six months.paris engagement session louvre eiffel tower lock bridge photographyparis engagement session louvre eiffel tower lock bridge photographyparis engagement session louvre eiffel tower lock bridge photography
