A Man in a Kilt

Mr. Alexander Sasha Petrovic, in a kilt. I am so excited. When he went to ask my parents for my hand in marriage (what a phrase), my dad pulled out a list of planned questions. One of which was, “The Serbian culture is so strong, but our Scottish culture normally gets overwhelmed. What will you do to make sure it remains 50/50?” Sasha’s response? “I’m wearing a kilt to the wedding.” And he is. And the fitting was yesterday. Doesn’t he look lovely?

His Biggest Fan

Okay, cheesy title – I get that. While I am Sasha’s biggest fan, the purpose of this post is not to gush about my future hubbie, but instead share some beautiful inspiration for fans. My wedding date has been nailed down: July 6. Which leaves me less than 8 months to nit-pick over every last detail, including the wedding agenda. Since it will be outdoors (don’t worry – think cool Napa breeze), I want to give my guests the schedule on a fan. Some of my favorite finds are below – which is your favorite?

Hold the Eggs, Please

Probably the one wedding detail I care least about is the cake. I don’t eat eggs and try to make my food choices as healthy as possible. To make things more complicated, my sister’s boyfriend has Celiac disease, so I need to take gluten allergies into consideration as well. Given that cakes are pretty much a wedding staple, I’ve been noodling. My solution is a color coded cupcake cake: white icing= regular cupcakes, pink icing= vegan cupcakes, and green icing = gluten free cupcakes. Stacked high, they double as an almost perfect cake replica. I even found Fat Bottom Bakery in San Francisco, which makes vegan cupcakes – don’t they look splendid?
