Relish Fine Foods

I met one of my best friends at Relish on San Felipe for lunch, and I’m officially obsessed. The beautiful glass building lends itself to wonderful people watching, as customers come and go into this “fine foods” shop & café. I’ve driven by a million times and always wanted to eat there, and when Paola and I were trying to decide where to meet up, it was the first place that came to mind. And trust me, we weren’t disappointed. We both got side salads (see pictures below), as well as the Beet and Goat Cheese salad (pour moi) and the Summer Strawberry salad. They were light and refreshing, and I plan on going back ASAP.

Nautical Fall

I was in Austin last week, NYC over the weekend, and going to Chicago in a few days, yet I cannot shake this feeling of wanderlust. In my morning daydream state, I remembered one of my favorite Mark Twain quotes: “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

I’m in a very nautical mood, which is appropriate given that I’d love to be spending my early fall months somewhere like the Hamptons or Nantucket. See inspiration below.

And last, but not least: Sarah Vickers of Classy Girls Wear Pearls. You simply cannot do a nautical post without mentioning her.

The Concrete Jungle

What a weekend in NYC. I love that city so much and am verrrry sad that Karine is leaving (there goes  my Kate Spade discount!). We walk through almost every area of Manhattan, ate amazing food (try Cafe Mogador and Candle Cafe), met up with a best friend who lives in Boston, went to the High Line, shopped quite a bit, tried bites at Smorgasburg in Williamsburg (Brooklyn), ate breakfast in Central Park, etc.

I cannot wait to go back again!

My favorite blogger, Emily Schuman of Cupcakes and Cashmere, at Bloomingdales!

Biking on the Buffalo Bayou

Like I mentioned here, McKenzie just got a new bike, so naturally, we had to go for a cycling adventure this past weekend. We were joined by Bryan and Patrick and had a spin around the Buffalo Bayou Trails (mapped out by Pat). Every day that I spend in Houston, I love it more and more. It’s beautiful – I mean, look at the Dandelion Fountain (formally known as the Gus Wortham Memorial Fountain).
