Week(s) in Review

I haven’t done a Week in Review post since May 14, so it’s catch up time. There are photos below from Isla’s last week at school, which was a month ago! Durango trip plus Isla’s and Sasha’s birthdays, Father’s Day, lots of photo sessions/classes, plus life/never-ending-house-building = behind on everything! Isla and I are heading to Dallas this weekend, then we all leave for the UK next weekend. It’s go, go, go until then.

Below, you’ll find photos from Father’s Day, Sasha’s birthday (on which he got a dog bite – eventful birthday!), Isla riding her new pedal bike around the streets (daily!), a recent family trip with the Hetzes to the Museum of Natural Sciences, family dinner at bellagreen, Camden’s birthday party, and some backyard mini-pool time. The girls are enjoying this summer heat way more than I am! It’s fun to be outdoors with them, regardless of the sweaty puddle I become. Excited to see family, experience much cooler weather and celebrate Jill and Kevin getting married in less than a month in Scotland.

I hope you’re having a great week so far! xo

Week(s) in Review

Can we talk about how we are already halfway through May? It’s unbelievable, people!! I can’t handle how fast 2018 is flying by. We leave on Saturday for Colorado and this is going to be a ringer of a week with getting things ready at the house for us to be gone during a very critical point in the home build process. We also get back two days before Isla’s birthday party, so I’m trying to (finally!) get my ducks in a row for that too. I’ve got photos to edit, emails to reply to, and collaborations to photograph. Who needs sleep anyway? Ha.

Yesterday was a wonderful Mother’s Day. We went to church, then spent time at my parent’s house before going home to let Emi nap. Sasha went to the new house in the afternoon to get work done (he’s going to be gone for 2.5 weeks and is freaking out!), then we went to a family dinner with my parent’s and sisters at True Food Kitchen.

On Saturday, we went to Isla’s friend’s birthday party, then celebrated Monica’s 40th birthday party in the best bash ever. Her backyard is the most amazing place ever and the party was so fun. This past week was one of my favorites, because Destiny came into town very last minute and ohmygosh, I HAVE MISSED HER SO MUCH. I am so sad she couldn’t bring the kiddos, because I also miss Truman and Tatum. We had the best time catching up over lunches, dinner (a rarity!), pedicures, and lots of photo taking. I need to get to Utah immediately.

Since I never got around to posting about the week before, I’ll give a short recap – Isla had her first dance recital. It was hilariously adorable and totally like herding cats. I taught two photography classes, which were extra fun. It is getting easier and easier every time I do it! Sweet Isla caught whatever Emi had the week before and was knocked right off her feet for a few days, which wasn’t fun. But oh those snuggles!

I am going to get caught up on emails now! It may be 12:46am, but there’s no time like the present, right? xo

Week in Review

Monday’s ‘Week in Review’ post comin’ in hot on… Friday. It’s been one of those weeks! We’re less than three months away from moving into the house, so we’re in the throes of the building process right now with ordering all of the tile, countertops, baseboards, etc. We have been at the house multiple times, meeting with the carpenter who is starting on all the paneling and cabinets. Going back today to share the plans for the closets that we worked on until midnight last night. It’s all very exciting – and exhausting 😉 But in the best way.

A few highlights from last week included seeing Mere and sweet Piper for some fun pics/video, going to Fredericksburg for Jill’s bachelorette weekend, eating family dinner with Ivana, Bob and Milly at The Del, going to Isla’s friend’s birthday party and teaching another photo class. I had one yesterday and another tomorrow – lots of teaching going on. I love it!

Isla’s dance recital is tomorrow. I can’t wait. Hope you have a great weekend. xo

Week in Review

Sweet Emi has had a high fever since yesterday, so I’ve basically haven’t left the house since Monday morning except to do school pickup/dropoff for Isla. I honestly thought it was teething related, but when it hit 103.2 this afternoon, I began thinking maybe it’s one of the millions of viruses going around right now. I pray she gets better soon!

I’ll keep this short, since she will inevitably wake up in five minutes time and the pile of dishes will only grow taller! The past week was a fun one, with Jill’s gorgeous wedding shower at one of my mom’s best friend’s house, family dinner at The Del, taking maternity photos with Jessica (taken by Sydney – I snapped three, but her gallery is unreal!), babysitting my nieces and nephew (Sasha’s cousin’s kiddos) on Sunday (the girls were in heaven!), and photographing Alex, Jennifer of  Golden Thread, and Baby Guy.

We spent lots of time working on and visiting the new house – it’s moving along now, and I need to make my mind up about door and window trim and crown moulding (i.e. spend hours on Pinterest looking at the hundreds of options!). I hope you have a wonderful week! xo

Week in Review

I’m still feeling the crash after a sugar high following Milly’s first birthday party yesterday. It was so much fun – the best bubbly birthday bash ever. There were ponies, a moon walk/bounce house, bubbles for babies, bubble for adults, balloons galore and the best cake EVER – made by Monica. I am going to share a post tomorrow with all of the photos, but am sneak peaking a few below.

The week was busy with senior photos, event photos, newborn photos, and a class field trip for Isla at the Houston Museum of Natural Science. We made final decisions for the house, and I received a few of our rugs in the mail. It’s starting to feel real! We saw all 3 sets of grandparents, had dinner with Karine and Ivana, and saw many of our friends we hadn’t seen in ages – at the Boxwood Breakfast Brunch and at Milly’s party. It’s always fun catching up with old and new friends.

Sasha, Emilia, Isla and I went to our favorite veggie burger spot in the city – The Counter, then Isla ate ice cream after a Cloud 10 Creamery while we walked around the Heights. It was a family-centric week, which is always the best. Now to finish editing all of the aforementioned photos! Hope your Monday has been terrific. xo
