Life Lately

Life lately… has been chaotic (to say the least). I started a new project on Monday and have been training my backfill, which makes work a tad busier. We’ve had a heap of friend’s birthday dinners, wedding showers, baby showers, bachelorette events, baby parties, etc. to attend. It’s so nice to be social and catch-up with people before Isla arrives, and I become preoccupied for a bit; however, I must say – it’s exhausting! The biggest complaint (and for this I’m blessed) about being pregnancy is the tiredness. It is like a plague – I took my first nap last weekend after my shower, and it felt so nice to sleep! I’m still up at 5am to workout, so our bedtime has gotten much, much earlier. I recently started doing spin class at Define Body and seriously love it. I had to stop running due to nerve pain, and spinning doesn’t hurt at all – a saving grace. I cannot wait to tie up my running shoes again though! Only 63 more days until Isla’s due date. Here’s to having it fly by! What have you been up to lately?

In Full Bloom Baby Shower

I absolutely adore this ‘In Full Bloom’ baby shower from Hostess with the Mostest! It is completely over the top, but was planned by event planners (Double Take Event Styling), so what do you expect? The little pink and gold French touches are perfect, as are the florals, calligraphy and crafts – creating baby headbands? Too cute.french-garden-baby-shower

Currently Obsessed: Pink Ombre

I go through phases where I am drawn to certain color patterns and palettes, and I’m currently loving pink ombre, a la Rifle Paper Co.’s Ombre Wrapping Paper (made into wall paper here). I love how you can take this color scheme and use it for invitations, party themes and everyday decorating. I’ve included some of my pink ombre inspiration below. Have you seen this scheme used anywhere recently?

Creating a Baby Registry

The fact that I found the act of creating a wedding registry difficult is now laughable, as I stare choosing baby essentials in the eyes. It’s daunting, as you literally have no idea what you will need. If you read one book, it’s necessary to have X, Y, and Z, but according to another book, those items are all frivolous. As a minimalist (I seriously hate clutter), I will always lean towards the side of too little rather than too much. When I found NYC blogger Annie Dean’s “The Baby Essentials” post, I swooned. It’s exactly what I had been looking for. A concise list that states everything I do and do not need for Baby Petrovic. It’s an excellent read for all expecting mothers, and her recommended list of things to buy is extremely helpful. I know for a fact I will be referencing this while building our baby registry. Click here to read her commentary and browse through her suggestions below.
