Pink Lemonade Party Inspiration

I have long loved bright pink and yellow paired together – à la pink lemonade. When I saw this tank and these shorts on sale at Carters, buying them was a no-brainer. Isla’s outfit reminded me of the cutest Pink Lemonade Soiree I saw ages ago on Hostess with the Mostess. I love the idea of a pink lemonade themed party! I’m getting ahead of myself, but I already let my mind wander to Isla’s first birthday party. These celebrations end up being huge events! See some pictures below for inspiration. Most are from the Pink Lemonade Soiree, others from Kara’s Party Ideas, and others from Pinterest.

What are other cute toddler party themes you’ve seen?

Also, one last reminder that the MAM pacifier giveaway ends tonight at midnight!

World’s Cutest Birthday Party Invitations

I saw these 1st birthday party invitations on Oh So Beautiful Paper, and immediately had a hunch as to who created them. They are the work of Melissa at Atheneum Creative (see these pop-up birth announcements and these bow-tie party invitations) – and I love them. All of the accompanying “branded” material is so cute as well – let’s talk about those ‘favorites’ napkins – could those be any cuter? I want my birthday parties to be this decorated. While I’m scared of Isla growing up too quickly, I’m excited to plan her first birthday party! First-Birthday-Party-Invitation-Atheneum-Creative

Currently Obsessed: Pink Ombre

I go through phases where I am drawn to certain color patterns and palettes, and I’m currently loving pink ombre, a la Rifle Paper Co.’s Ombre Wrapping Paper (made into wall paper here). I love how you can take this color scheme and use it for invitations, party themes and everyday decorating. I’ve included some of my pink ombre inspiration below. Have you seen this scheme used anywhere recently?

LEIF’s Midas Touches

Leifshop

When Taylor Sterling recently posted a picture of a gorgeous geometric blanket on  Instagram from Leifshop.com, I immediately had to find it. In my search for this gorgeous throw, I fell head-over-heels for this online design store. Seriously. In love.

The bold colors, gorgeous artwork, and modern vibe of the store is right up my alley. My style is definitely West Elm rustic meets LEIF modern. I especially love their gold touches – shown above. My shopping cart is huge. I’m trying to practice self-control, but failing miserably. I need those paintings!

Weekend Food Adventures

I love trying new restaurants. I got to knock out three that I’ve been dying to try for ages this weekend – Mockingbird Bistro, Underbelly, and Latin Bites. My thoughts on each place are below!

I met two of my good friends, Paola and Guillermo, at Mockingbird Bistro on Thursday to celebrate their recent engagement. I ordered the Organic Beet Salad, which was great. As a beet lover, I will always order a beet dish if it’s on a menu. This one definitely did not fail to deliver. The spicy walnuts were the perfect touch to the dish. The service was amazing – our waiter brought a Congratulations dessert plate without any of us even mentioning the occasion! He must have been very attentive!

I’ve been to Underbelly for drinks before, but not for a meal. The menu is not super conducive to vegetarians, but the atmosphere makes up for the slim pickings. We ordered the eggplant appetizer (amazing), and then I got the Crispy Market Vegetables, which was a bowl of green beans (slightly strange, although they tasted great). The best parts about the evening were meeting Chris Shepherd (Executive Chef) and bragging on one of my good friends, Bryan, who did some of the art work on the wine menu (illustration and Bryan’s bio on page 10 here).

At Latin Bites on Saturday, I ordered the Quinoa Salad. It was heaven on earth. The ingredients include crispy quinoa, poached quinoa, carmelized cashews, mint, mozzarella, choclo, fava beans, avocados, tomatoes confit and passion fruit dressing. It came with baby iceberg lettuce wraps – one of my favorite dishes in Houston. See their dinner menu here. My only complaint about this amazing Memorial gem is the logo. As a typography nerd, it kills me.
