Creating a Baby Registry

The fact that I found the act of creating a wedding registry difficult is now laughable, as I stare choosing baby essentials in the eyes. It’s daunting, as you literally have no idea what you will need. If you read one book, it’s necessary to have X, Y, and Z, but according to another book, those items are all frivolous. As a minimalist (I seriously hate clutter), I will always lean towards the side of too little rather than too much. When I found NYC blogger Annie Dean’s “The Baby Essentials” post, I swooned. It’s exactly what I had been looking for. A concise list that states everything I do and do not need for Baby Petrovic. It’s an excellent read for all expecting mothers, and her recommended list of things to buy is extremely helpful. I know for a fact I will be referencing this while building our baby registry. Wedding Welcome Bags

I was recently flipping through Martha Stewart Wedding’s Destination Weddings magazine when I realized I don’t know what we’re going to put in the welcome bags in our guest’s hotel rooms. Granted, we have five months to decide, but I know the time will fly by, so I’m trying to make big decisions as early as possible. For inspiration, I scoured Etsy, asked friends who had recently gotten married for ideas, and racked my brain for Napa-inspired gifts. I created an assortment of ideas below – we definitely won’t put all of these treats in there, but hopefully our guests will love their hospitality bags anyway!

To & From Magazine

Having a hard time deciding what gift to get your loved one this Valentine’s Day? Fortunately for me, Sasha and I have decided to only exchange cards (only my favorite things in the world) this year on February 14, as my birthday comes shortly after and our bank accounts are much more focused on the house + wedding than they are on little niceties. However, that doesn’t mean that I can’t browse Valentine’s gift guides (have you seen how many choices of cards there are?), and my new favorite is to & from magazine, which is an electronic publication that compiles big blogger’s present recommendations for the different seasons of the year (i.e. Christmas, Valentine’s Day). It’s simple, gorgeous and spurs great ideas. Definitely check it out if you are in need of inspiration.

As for me, I think I’ll be leaning towards some Sugar Paper, because what guy doesn’t love a good gold leaf card? Loving this one here on vmac + cheese.
