As I mentioned here, Isla had big birthday party plans that didn’t come to fruition because of the coronavirus, but as she lay in bed on her birthday, she declared it the best day ever. She had three requests: 1) A swim playdate with her best friend, Phoenix, 2) A chocolate cake from her teacher (and insanely talented baker!), Mrs. Bramlett, and 3) Slime. Well, Isla got all three of those things (yikes to the slime!), plus a very festive and joyful drive-by car parade which was so fun and truly the icing to the day.

Mrs. Bramlett’s mermaid cake was unbelievable. I was so sad to cut it! I’m amazed by her. Her business is named Mississippi Hummingbird Co. (you can view her Instagram here). I am so grateful for her beautiful cake! Also, my bestie Monica (also known as Paper Flour Ink or “The Woman Who Can Do Any and Everything”) came in strong with her design skills with the beautiful mermaid scale backdrop (to match this Target mermaid party line), glittery Isla cutout and gorgeous pearl macarons. The last big shoutout is to Tiffany of Glamfetti who inflated balloons days ahead of a trip she had planned so that Isla could have a festive birthday dessert setup. I love these three ladies!

Going through all these birthday “party” photos makes me so happy! We are so lucky to have such incredible and loving family and friends.
